When I first moved to Montana I was in awe of the beauty that surrounded me. My reaction was in fact so strong that I was inspired to pick up a paintbrush again, after not having painted for 15 years. Sadly, despite our best intentions, we tend to take even the best things for granted after a while,
This August I participated in two art shows in the Flathead valley, home of Glacier National Park, and was reminded how lucky I am to live a couple of hours drive from one of the most beautiful places on earth. It also made me want to paint happy little mountain goats, which many of them call Glacier home. Or perhaps I should say curious mountain goats? they always have that "what are you doing" look, don't they?
Here's my first attempt but I have a feeling it won't be the last...
